Article Abstract
Propofol is an effective agent for rapid, reversible sedation in the NICU that does not alter the neurologic exam, except for pupillary size. However, with prolonged propofol use wake-up times increase. Vital signs remain unchanged except for a drop in MAP, which should be anticipated with propofol infusion.
